More than 80 percent of the newly selected restaurants feature Taiwanese cuisine and traditional Hakka specialties, it said.
Michelin Guide international director Gwendal Poullennec said this year’s Bib Gourmand selection places greater emphasis on casual and authentic dining experiences, as well as popular street food and local culinary culture.
“Today, Taiwan stands out not only for its outstanding culinary skills, but also for its spirit of cultural exchange and openness, making it one of Asia’s most exciting culinary destinations,” Poullennec said in a statement.

The three new additions in Tainan are Baa Wanli Goat (咩灣裡羊肉店), Chan Chi (詹記) and Zhu-Ji Dong Tsai Ya (竹記冬菜鴨), which serve traditional dishes including goat hot pot, fish soup and duck cuisine respectively.
New Taipei City’s three additions are Abba Hakka (阿爸的客家菜), Bei Ya Duck Thick Soup (北鴨鴨肉羹) and Bitan Chiao Tou Goose (碧潭橋頭鵝肉), featuring Hakka dishes, duck meat soup and smoked goose respectively.
The two new selections in Hsinchu County are Monsoon (季風), which serves vegetarian Hakka cuisine, and Yi Ge Rice Vermicelli (哥炊粉), which serves traditional Hsinchu snacks.
