我們在 2021/9/5 會員投票通過西敏信仰準則和薩維 Savoy 教會設立原則作為新福的認信標準。新福採取認信標準(confessional standards)認知我們是歷史大公教會一員:新福不是在教會歷史真空中運作、閉門造車、再次發明輪子。基於新福歷史、台灣教會處境、我建議新福採用薩維 Savoy 教會設立原則,因為認知我們的主並沒有賜予台灣名副其實的改革宗長老會為新福加入的選項,而這份 1658 年由英國改革宗公理會(Congregationalist)先賢們制定的教會設立原則最符合新福當下的處境。 我計畫用約四堂課程與大家一起檢視這份文件。
我提醒大家這不是新福教會治理守則(book of church order),而是新福所認信之教會設立原則,也是之後我們制定新福治理守則之基礎。
我們讀這份文件的時候總不要忘記 WCF 西敏告白/薩維告白 1.6——WCF 1.6 是我們這堂課的釋經原則(hermeneutical principle): The whole counsel of God, concerning all things necessary for his own glory, man’s salvation, faith, and life, is either expressly set down in scripture, or by good and necessary consequence may be deduced from scripture: unto which nothing at any time is to be added, whether by new revelations of the Spirit, or traditions of men. Nevertheless, we acknowledge the inward illumination of the Spirit of God to be necessary for the saving understanding of such things as are revealed in the word; and that there are some circumstances concerning the worship of God, and government of the Church, common to human actions and societies, which are to be ordered by the light of nature and Christian prudence, according to the general rules of the word, which are always to be observed. 高阿丹 1. 所有關於教會的召喚、設立、秩序或治理的權力,都憑天父的任命按照至高主權賦予主耶穌基督,作為教會的國王和元首。
By the appointment of the Father all power for the calling, institution, order, or government of the Church, is invested in a supreme and sovereign manner in the Lord Jesus Christ, as King and Head thereof.o 見WCF 25.1, 6;30.1o 教會是基督的教會。
2. 在執行祂被賦予的這權力時,主耶穌從世界中召喚出那些由他的父賜給祂與祂團契的人,使他們按照祂話語的規範在祂面前行出順從。
In the execution of this power wherewith he is so entrusted, the Lord Jesus calleth out of the world unto communion with himself, those that are given unto him by his Father, that they may walk before him in all the ways of obedience, which he prescribeth to them in his Word.o 教會父賜予子的人所組成的(約17:6, 20),是按照主耶穌話語順服主的人(約17:8, 14)o 教會之必要性:基督徒的順服必然是在教會處境中順服;見 WCF 25.2; 3. 祂命令那些(透過憑著聖靈之聖道)呼召的人在特定的團體或教會中共存,以便他們彼此造就、進行公共崇拜,這是祂在這個世界上對他們的要求。
Those thus called (through the ministry of the Word by his Spirit) he commandeth to walk together in particular societies or churches, for their mutual edification, and the due performance of that public worship, which he requireth of them in this world.o 人是依靠聖靈透過聖道蒙召為基督徒。
o 基督徒成為教會一員之必要性:基督對基督徒的要求——在教會處境下彼此造就、一同敬拜。 4. 根據祂在聖道中宣布的旨意,祂把所有執行敬拜和紀律秩序所需要的權力和權柄、交給了如此聚集起來的每一個教會;祂制定命令和規則要他們遵守,以便適當和正確地發揮與執行這權力。
To each of these churches thus gathered, according to his mind declared in his Word, he hath given all that power and authority, which is any way needful for their carrying on that order in worship and discipline, which he hath instituted for them to observe, with commands and rules for the due and right exerting and executing of that power.o 基督將權柄交托給每一個教會;太16:19;o 見 WCF 30.2; 參考新福 WCF 30 課程 5. 這些由基督的權柄任命的個別(獨立)教會,從祂那裡領受權力為要成就以上目的;就這些目的而言(彼此造就與敬拜),它們每一個(獨立會堂)都是祂樂意在這世界上傳遞給祂的聖徒或子民的權力的所在地,因此,它們(每一個獨立會堂)從祂那裡直接領受了權力。
These particular churches thus appointed by the authority of Christ, and entrusted with power from him for the ends before expressed, are each of them as unto those ends, the seat of that power which he is pleased to communicate to his saints or subjects in this world, so that as such they receive it immediately from himself.o 每一個獨立會堂已經被基督賦予在地上作為基督教會的權柄(天國鑰匙)——在獨立會堂之上沒有教皇、沒有主教、沒有國家教會、總會、或區會直接從基督領受治理教會的權柄。
· 沒有「空降」或「缺席 absentee」治理各別獨立會堂的「長老」。o 凡基督呼召成為一群彼此造就與一同敬拜的人,就是祂賦予權柄組成教會的人。 6. 基督沒有在這些個別(獨立)教會之外、建立任何一個更廣泛的或更大公的教會而託付其教會權力施行規例或執行祂名下的權柄。
Besides these particular churches, there is not instituted by Christ any church more extensive or catholic entrusted with power for the administration of his ordinances, or the execution of any authority in his name.o 在 26,27條討論大公會議(synod)。
